“We recently completed a project on our property in Bellingen with Mick Ainsworth Building. The design was not straightforward, and we were wanting to use steel frame construction to mitigate the termite risk prevalent in the area. With the dramatic rise in construction costs we were struggling to keep the project in line with our budget. We received estimates from several local builders but felt most comfortable with Mick’s genuine approach and ability to make our concept a practical reality.
Being based in Sydney currently we needed to rely on honesty and integrity. Mick, Nova, Geoff and the team communicated openly, honestly, regularly and thoroughly on a daily basis with progress photos and detailed hours worked and monies spent on materials. It gave us comfort that work was progressing well and the program was on track. Mick also dealt with numerous significant changes we made during the course of the build and worked hard to find cost saving alternatives to keep the budget on track.
We couldn’t be happier with the end result! The attention to detail and the willingness to rectify any small defects was outstanding. We added a studio, a garage, 2 bridges and a pontoon in our dam to Mick’s job sheet, all of which the team completed efficiently and economically.
Having dealt with many building companies over 40 years, I can say that the relationship that we developed with Mick and his team has been the best I have experienced. We would not hesitate to recommend them.
